Our Approach

Picture
Annie Mercer, the owner of Studio 910 Pilates, has a BA in Dance from the University of New Mexico, and is certified in both Pilates (1999) and Gyrotonic (2007).
Annie moved to Seattle from New Mexico in 1986 where she performed with local choreographers, and produced dance concerts.  Annie started exploring Pilates to cross train for performing and took her first pilates lesson in 1993.  After certification as a teacher she opened her studio 1999.  In 2002 Annie continued her passion for movement by studying Gyrotonic, and became a certified trainer in 2007.

There are many ways to teach movement. Annie has a very client-oriented approach.  She recognizes that each time a person comes into the studio they are in a different place in their own body.  Depending upon their stress, flexibility, and goals, Annie adapts the workout to ensure that the client gets the most out of their session.

Annie enjoys working with people from all walks of life, to help them find their true potential and joy of movement.

"Working with Annie has been a terrific experience. She uses her extensive knowledge of Pilates to tailor a program that works so well for me. At 73 years old, I have lots of bio-mechanical issues (spinal stenosis amongst others) and Annie is always tuned into what works and what doesn’t. Because of Annie’s Pilates work with me, I am most often pain-free enjoying a very active life that includes downhill skiing and kayaking."
